Zoals een zuidwester bescherming en plezier biedt tijdens zwaar weer op het water, zo kunnen foto's (en fotografie) plezier en rust bieden tijdens goed en zwaar weer in het dagelijkse bestaan.
Als amateur, letterlijk liefhebber, leg ik graag mooie eenvoudige beelden vast van natuur en cultuur in mijn directe omgeving en tijdens mijn camperreizen door Europa.
Schoonheid kan naast plezier en rust, ook inspiratie, motivatie, troost of zelfs redding (volgens Dostojevski) brengen.
Als je die schoonheid niet daadwerkelijk zelf kunt opzoeken, dan kun je wel altijd van genieten van die schoonheid, door de foto's digitaal te bekijken of door je te omringen met afgedrukte versies.
Daarom, maar vooral uit enthousiasme voor deze liefhebberij deel ik mijn foto's op deze site en op Facebook en Instagram.

Ik heb mijn favoriete foto's onderverdeeld in 3 thema's:
1. a touch of: een beetje kunst, cultuur, natuur of een combinatie daarvan.
2. major details: eenvoudige details en macro van de natuur.
3. black and white: zwart-wit foto's van allerlei objecten
Alle foto's zijn te bestellen.
Ieder najaar ontwerp ik kalenders voor het nieuwe jaar.

De titels van de meeste foto's zijn gebaseerd op lyrics van uiteenlopende liedjes. Door fotografie met muziek te verbinden, ontstaat er een andere dimensie omdat je bij wijze van spreken mee kunt zingen met de foto's: Dus noem ik ze 'sing-along-pictures'

Like a sou'wester provides you protection and pleasure during heavy weather on the water, pictures (and photography) can also give you joy and peace during fair and heavy weather in daily life.
As an amateur, litteraly lover, I like to capture pretty and simple images of nature and culture in my direct surroundings and during my motorhome (campervan) trips through European countries.
Beauty can bring us, besides pleasure and peace, also inspiration, motivation, comfort or even rescue ( according to Dostojevski).
If you're yourself not in the position of searching and finding this beauty in the world around you, you can always enjoy this beauty by watching digital pictures or surround yourself with printed versions.
